on a cold winters morning by the beach
seeing as i had some extra time on my hands - due to the wonderful effects of jet lag - i decided to join my mum on one of her trips to cronulla beach where she swims every morning.

now i was aware of my mum's rather super human strength when it comes to her early morning swims - having swam with a shark in the pool and all - and this trip to the beach just strengthened my theory of her super hero status. IT WAS FREEZING! i had on jeans/t-shirt/2 jumpers/scarf and was still cold, all the while mum is cruising down to the water in her swimming costume! maximum respect.

the early morning light was a treat for taking photos, and the crisp morning air ensured that there was plenty glistening due photos to be had. so while mum was out battling the code (and sharks no doubt) - i headed back to the car to try and thaw out my hands.

a quick trip across the world to meet zac
"you are mental"
the standard response that i got from people when i told them i was going to fly to australia for a week. especially considering it was the middle of winter and that i had been back to sydney only a few months before. but the minute i saw the first photo of my new nephew zac, i knew that i had to get back to see him.

now i might be being biased - but i am pretty sure that all of you will agree that the face above is enough to make you travel 25 hours on a plane across to the other side of the world.

i had not told my big sister, kris, that i was coming back and she was reet surprised - despite her protests of knowing that i was coming back.

zac is absolutely gorgeous and kris and keiran are radiant as parents. it was also a really amazing time to be with all my (now bigger - but not by much) family. i miss you all so much already.
all the shots of the little man can be seen on flickr and i am sure that there will be many many more to come.
