all day rock n roll
the camden barfly played host to an xfm exposure all dayer that basically got the hottest bands around and put them all on the bill for a tiny tenna - cash back.
now considering that i do not throw the term "greatest band" around too freely ; ) i shall pin it to the current rightful owners - good shoes. the band can clearly do no wrong. sounding a hell of a lot more polished of late - a reflection of the work for the new album perhaps.
it was ace to see them headline a small venue also, as i think this could be one of the last times we see them in such intimate surroundings. go forth lads!
i was surprised to find out only 2 days before that the hotter then hot blood brothers we also on the bill - a rather nice surprise i must admit.
the band were absolutely brilliant, and had all the shout-y, rocking talent that can be found on their albums.
another stand out band were the difficult to google and near on impossible to type dananananaykroyd. these young lads from scotland were rather funny and rather amazing on stage.
for lads that are so young and so talented the future can only look bright.

in the hot club
back from holidays and couldn't wait to take my new flash lens for a test drive. and what better band to start with then the hilarious, charming and damn well danceable lads from up north, hot club de paris.
while the lads delivered a lovely clean indie/pop/rock set i was enjoying the freedoms that my new lens was able to deliver.
as you can kind of guess i am well happy with the results from the lens.

dial #3 for published shots domination
it seems that the amount of shots that i am getting published in magazines or on a varying array of other mediums is gathering momentum.
first up i have secured my first full page shot in Artrocker [above] and my first feature shot [below], in separate issues mind.
i am also, more often then not, getting shots in the review section of Artrocker.
in other stranger publishing success, i am getting about 3 shots used on a card game that is being developed in Israel (?) and other shots used for flyers for a club in Austria (??).
i bet my mum is proud ;)

i guess you could call the photos below a snap shot of our trip in oz. i think that they all capture my nearest and dearest in the most important events of our trip - christmas, new years eve and my mum's birthday.

it was so very special to be back with family and friends around the festive period - oh and warm weather was rather bearable also.
