more love for love is all

ok, so the title is cheesy enough... i was originally thinking along the lines of "love is all i have for love is all", so think yourselves damn lucky!

the line up for the kings college gig was rather mouth watering. the guys from loud and quiet magazine had asked me to shoot the first support act jakobinarina, so was looking forward to them. their mixture of icelandic dry wit and fast punky tunes took me back a little to my millencolin days (oh my, 27 and already walking down memory lane).

on next and switching things up a little bit was the sweeter then sweet tilly and the wall. i was quite eager to see how their sound would be live as instead of using a drum kit, the lovely ladies tap their way through the rhythm. this worked brilliantly, with the songs coming across like breaths of fresh air. however, i was a little disappointed as the tapping was only in about half their songs, with the others sounding a little "adult contemporary rock-ish" for my liking.

noticing the amount of pristine young 20 somethings moving towards the stage it was obvious that it was time for swedish pop perfection with love is all. and the kids from gothenburg did not disappoint. i am not sure if it was the fact i knew their material more, or that they have managed to actually get even better then last time i saw them, but they were amazing. catchy melodies, words to sing along to, harmonies, fast poppy pace.... and a saxophone. game set match love is all.
