bbbbback in old blighty
ahoy there mateys
well i am back in old blighty and getting used to the current temperature and the larger size beer glasses, and while the memory of the balmy australian sun is setting fast i am still warmed by all the many many good times that i had whilst in oz (pause while crowd *sighs*)
now as you all know i headed back to oz for two main reasons 1 - my old mans birthday and 2 - my sisters wedding. both occasions were nothing short of amazing.
jb's birthday was spent in the hunter valley (wine region north of sydney). have not been there before and the region lived up to all the hype that i had previously heard. plenty of wine tasting was mixed with a hot air balloon ride with the birthday boy. this ride was unbelievable. we were up before sunrise to get the balloon ready and get to the launch site. so as we drifted over the hunter valley, the sun popped up from over newcastle and put on quite a show for us.
as for my sisters wedding - well where do i start. maybe with the bride and groom. kris and kb, you both looked that hot and it was such an amazing day. i think that everyone there shared in the obvious joy that you two had. the location was nothing short of amazing also, perched right at the top of the escarpment looking over stanwell beach.
was a great chance for me to see many of our 'extended family' which was ace also. i have plenty of pics from the big day on flickr (you can view them as a slide show via the link in the top right corner). such a beautiful day and pretty damn emotional also.
+ to team vern - what an amazing few weeks we have had. so many memories. just absolutely perfect time... dont really need to say any more
+ to everyone who made the effort to see me - i was well chuffed. really appreciated the distance that some of you travelled just to spend some time with this goon... mucho gracias amigos
