hola...
well what a difference a week makes.
this time last week i was rushing home to sort out last minute visa issues - not knowing if i would be homeless in a week...
and now
I GOT MY VISA APPLICATION APPROVED.
still cannot believe that it went through so quick (sorry narkin). but got the letter last night and now just need to sort out my passport getting stamped and i am all ready to rock and roll for the summer.
also - we sign the contracts for our new place this afternoon - and moving in tomorrow. going to be a weekend of celebrations on brockwell park!
we will be having drinks of sunday if anyone is around - give me a call and i will give you directions - brixton tube is the closest - the 37 also runs fairly close to us

< -- the end of the strat -- >
hola all,
been a while since i have spoken - been busy with the side show that is my life. has been some good - some bad and some ugly goings on... so let me fill you in....
the good - first up would have to be my trip to slovenia which was absolutely amazing. went there with my mum for a week and had the most amazing time. beautiful country - beautiful people - easy to travel around - clean - fresh - new - just a wicked country to visit. managed to cover the western half of the country (the part that borders italy - even popped into italy for about half an hour one day). travelled from the snow capped montains in the north, down through the wine region and then finally ended up on the paradise that is the adriatic in spring. life was good. beautiful weather and loads of wine and good food - tough life i know.
next would have to be the bad that has been my visa application. finally pulled my finger out and got my applications together and sent off - then settled myself in for the reply which could take up to 13 weeks - amazing admin services over here..... but then things went a little pete tong. found out that i needed to get another form in before my current visa expires.... which was in two days time. so some mad rushing around and now [i think] everything is in order - only have to deal with the £650 i have paid in fees for my applications.
and now for the ugly - flat hunting. myself/bryce/wes/thomo are all looking for our next location in which to create english folk law. this process had been rather painful indeed. one of the highlights along the way would have to be the place we looked at near brixton prison - well not exactly near the prison - more like next door to the prison - you literally had to walk through the prison boom gates to get to this place - not a major selling point.
so we thought that the perfect place had come along - only problem was that we would have to deal with the worlds biggest criminals - foxtos real estate. this company managed to try and screw us out of every cent possible - culminating in the land lord pulling out of the deal - leaving us with no possible places to move into and 1.5 weeks in which to get out of our current flat.....
but wait there is a happy ending
we have now managed to find an EVEN BETTER place down in brixton on brockwell park. place is wicked. private gated estate where only the elite (me?/bryce?/wes?/thomo?) can reside. in the process of finalising everything now and looking at moving in next weekend - so pop over for a beer if you are south of the river ;)
but while there is joyous tears for the new place... there are tears of sadness due to the departing from THE STRAT (btw - the strat is my current flat as we live on strathleven road... subtle i know)
so an ode to the strat - the flat that never denies someone a place to sleep - or a party to be had
memories.... well there are a few
to all my varied flat mates - not going to list you all as.... well i cannot really remeber who was who sometimes
to simons pleas at my birthday 'can i stop now' 'no you cannot simon'
to friday beers on our 'balcony'
to the saturday morning fry-ups - bags not washing up
to the world cup of fifa football that was held most friday nights at about 3am (i am still the champion!)
to bryce jumping out the window on me (yes the flat is first floor - do the maths)
the window/wall/plates/cups/fire/chairs that have been broken.
and last but not least.... where would the strat be without all the pebbles used as doorbells.... i cannot believe the window didnt break sooner - ps: dont throw them so hard lauren ;)
ok - more then enough for me - will leave you with a list of all the gigs we have been going to recently - yes the summer or rock is gaining momentum
- lcd soundsystem/zutons/soulwax
- maximo park
- hot hot heat
- the arcade fire
- prefuse 73
ill be the rock if you be the roll
