strange but true
hello all,
well sorry for the lack of emails, due to lack of time and lack of email facilities close by i have not had much luck getting onto a computer.
at the moment we are in munich, we arrived here on sat after spending 4 days in berlin. berlin is a cracking city and i was glad to get back there and spend more time looking around the places that i didnt get a chance to see last time. even in the short time since i was last there (about 2 years) belin has changed so much. loads of new development and some amazing new buildings have gone up. saw some wicked buldings like the sony centre, the reichstag (spelling) and some other buildings around the potsdam.
had a few issues with the language barrier when we first got to berlin, but after a day or so we felt more in place there.
got the overnite train to munich and arrived at about 9:00 sat morning to be greated by what lauren and i had feared the most...... hoards of drunk loud australians all on there way to oktoberfest. we were definately rethinking or trip to munich. dropeed off our stuff at the camp site and headed into the festival to meet up with pip/bb and a few other shire ppl. spent ages wondering around looking for a seat, due to he fact that you need to be seated to get a stein. finally cracked a seat and the first stein of many steins went down like a dream....
spent the last two days at the festival drinking in the sun - yes that is right, the weather has been outragous. considering that last years festival was greated with rain and snow, the 30 degree day we are enjoying are making the festival that much more enjoyable. each day starts off fairly well, but by about 4-5 in the afternoon things get rather out of control in most of the beer tents. we ahev seen some very crazy scenes in the last 2 days.
one strange but true fact that greated us when we arrived was the site of a guy skating down the road with a surfboard.... didnt think much of it till we saw another person walking along the raod with a surfboard.... we later found out that these guys were surfing a stationary wave that is just up the raod from our camp site. due to the nice weather we have been having a bit of a bodysurf each morning to shake off the previous nites steins.
in munich for another 2 days and then we have made a few changes to our travel plans. only took a bit of convincing by lauren, but we have decided to go to croatia instead of austria. pretty quick decision. we have nothing booked and are trawling the web for details - but should be another wicked adventure.
better go, time is running out. sorry to the ppl that have emailed me and i have not replied to. i will try and get some replies out next time
till then
as always
